Under Operation UPLABDH, RPF Malda Division continues anti-touting drive; one arrested fo illegal ticketing at Sahibganj Railway Station

As part of the ongoing *Operation UPLABDH,* an all-India anti-touting initiative aimed at curbing illegal ticketing and ensuring fair access to reserved railway tickets for genuine passengers, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Malda Division, is maintaining strict vigil at *Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters* and station premises under the guidance of *Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda, and the supervision of Shri Aseem Kumar Kullu, Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, Malda.*
In continuation of this sustained drive, a joint team of RPF/CIB Malda, with assistance from RPF/Post Sahibganj, *apprehended one person today on December 28, 2025 at Sahibganj Railway Station for involvement in illegal procurement and sale of reserved railway tickets.* The individual was noticed engaging in suspicious activities near the PRS counter during a targeted check.
On verification, a live reserved Tatkal railway ticket along with other materials connected with unauthorised ticketing activities were recovered from his possession. The apprehended person failed to produce any valid authority or satisfactory explanation for possession of the ticket.
Accordingly, the accused was arrested under the relevant provisions of the Railway Act for illegal touting. A case has been registered at RPF/Post Sahibganj, and further legal proceedings are underway as per law.
