Shunting Mela Organised at Sahibganj Station to Enhance Railway Safety

In a continued effort to strengthen safety standards in train operations, Malda Division of Eastern Railway organised *a “Shunting Mela” today at the Coaching Yard of Sahibganj Station*. The initiative was aimed at spreading safety awareness and reiterating the importance of adhering to proper shunting procedures among field staff.
*Divisional Railway Manager, Malda, Shri Manish Kumar Gupta* interacted with Shuntmen, Shunters, Pointsmen and other frontline staff. He highlighted the significance of strictly following established safety protocols and personally reviewed the safety preparedness of staff involved in shunting activities.
The primary objective of the mela was to sensitise the field staff about the critical need for strict compliance with safety rules during shunting operations. Staff were briefed on correct procedures regarding movement, signalling, coordination and communication required to ensure safe and efficient shunting.
Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Malda, Shri Amrendra Kumar Maurya, along with other Senior Branch Officers, Station Superintendent of Sahibganj, Supervisors, Traffic Inspectors, and other railway officials, were present during the mela.
