Malda Division Conducts Intensive Ticket Checking Drive — 503 Cases Detected, ₹4.33 Lakh Penalty in Just One Day

Under the guidance of *Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda* and the supervision of *Shri Kartik Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Malda,* Malda Division has intensified its efforts to curb ticketless and irregular travel across the division.
As part of this initiative, an intensive ticket checking drive was conducted today(17.12.2025)*onboard various trains operating in the Bhagalpur–Kahalgaon section.*
The drive was led by *Shri Dilip Chourasia, Chief Inspector of Tickets (CIT/Bhagalpur),* assisted by a dedicated team comprising Commercial Inspectors, Ticket Checking Staff and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel. Their coordinated efforts ensured strict checks and enhanced passenger discipline.
During the operation, *503 cases* of ticketless and irregular travel were detected, resulting in the realisation of *₹4,33,075/- as penalty,* reflecting Malda Division’s uncompromising stand against ticketless travel.
Among the ticket checking team, *Shri Subhash Jha* achieved the highest detection with the maximum penalty of *₹58,330/-,* showcasing exemplary vigilance and commitment.
*Malda Division urges passengers to travel with proper and valid ticket* and extend cooperation to maintain discipline and lawful travel across the railway network.
