SWACHHATA PAKHWADA’CAMPAIGN OBSERVED IN MALDA DIVISION

The Ministry of Railways has launched the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign from 1st October to 15th October 2024, as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. In Malda Division, Divisional Railway Manager Shri Manish Kumar Gupta inaugurated the campaign by administering the Swachhata Pledge at the DRM Office, Malda. Branch officers of Departments and officials joined in taking the pledge to contribute 100 hours per year, or two hours per week, towards cleanliness.
The Swachhata Pledge was also administered at Bhagalpur, Jamalpur, and Jangipur Road stations, where officers and staff actively participated.
As part of the Swachhata Pakhwada activities, a human chain was formed by Diesel Shed, Jamalpur, in collaboration with Sri Shastri Madhya Vidyalaya, Mungraura, Jamalpur. Students participated enthusiastically in taking the cleanliness pledge.
This fortnight-long campaign is being observed across Malda Division with a focus on cleaner trains, stations, workplaces, tracks, and other railway areas. The initiative aims to raise awareness among railway staff and passengers and reaffirm the Railways' commitment to maintaining a carbon-neutral and clean environment.
