RECOVERY OF APPROX. 10 KG GANJA, VALUED RS. 1, 00,382/- BY RPF OF MALDA DIVISION*

In a joint effort under Operation Narcos officers and staff of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), in collaboration with the Crime Prevention and Detection Squad/Malda, executed a successful raid on train no. 12346 DN (Saraighat Express) upon its arrival at MLDT at approximately 5:18 AM today (12.12.2023)
Based on credible source information, the team discovered a trolley bag containing Ganja weighing approximately 10.38 kilograms under seat no. 07 of the HA-1 coach. The estimated value of the seized contraband is Rs. 1, 00,382/-
Despite rigorous efforts to locate the owner of the bag, no passenger came forward to claim it. Consequently, the Railway Protection Force/Malda seized the illicit substance, and the seized bag was handed over to the Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) at Malda Town (MLDT) for further legal action.
The collaborative effort of RPF Post/MALDA, CIB/ MALDA and GRPS/ MALDA demonstrates their dedication to ensuring the well-being of the community and to combat drug-related activities and also maintain the safety and security of railway passengers and the general public.
