RPF of Malda Division Apprehends Person with Illegal Firearm at Jamalpur Railway Station*

Malda, December 16, 2025:
The *Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Malda Division* apprehended one person in possession of an illegal country-made firearm during vigilant checking in the railway premises at Jamalpur Railway Station.
On December 15, 2025, acting on specific intelligence, RPF personnel of RPF Post Jamalpur were maintaining surveillance in the marshalling yard area. During the vigil, a person was observed moving suspiciously and attempted to flee upon noticing the presence of RPF personnel. He was immediately chased and apprehended by the RPF team.
During checking, a silver-coloured country-made pistol along with a mobile phone was recovered from his possession. The recovered articles were seized following due legal procedure.
*The apprehended person has been identified as a 19-year-old male, a resident of Munger district, Bihar* . During interrogation, he admitted his involvement in snatching activities by threatening people with the illegal firearm.
Subsequently, the apprehended person along with the seized articles was handed over to GRP Jamalpur for further legal action as per law.
The RPF of Malda Division remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of passengers, railway staff and railway premises through continuous vigilance and proactive measures.
