In celebration of National Nutrition Week, observed annually in India from September 1 to 7, the Divisional Railway Hospital (DRH), Malda, organized an educational and engaging nutrition camp today at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Malda. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition for health and well-being, while also promoting healthy eating habits among students.
The camp witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 65 students who actively engaged in discussions about the significance of balanced nutrition in preventing diseases and promoting overall wellness. The event began with a seminar on healthy eating habits, where students eagerly participated, raising queries and sharing their thoughts on nutrition.
Following the seminar, the students showcased their creativity through a small drama that beautifully depicted the complexities of nutrition in an engaging and understandable manner. The drama was met with applause and appreciation, highlighting the children's efforts in presenting the importance of a balanced diet.
A nutrition-focused food competition was also held, where 12 students brought home-cooked meals and explained why their dishes were healthy. The competition was judged based on the nutritional value and presentation of the food, and winners were selected after careful consideration. The students' enthusiasm and active participation made the program a grand success.
DRH/Malda believes that such initiatives are instrumental in fostering healthier eating habits and enhancing nutritional awareness among young minds, paving the way for a healthier future generation.
