FACILITIES FOR THE LOCO PILOTS/ASSISTANT LOCO PILOTS/GUARDS AT THE RAILWAY REST ROOMS Of MALDA DIVISION*

At Malda Town Station, the crew rest rooms/Running rooms are now equipped with a meditation room, yoga room, and gym equipment to promote relaxation and fitness. Additionally, educative videos and simulating modules are available at the crew booking lobbies and rest room complex to help staff upgrade their working knowledge.
Similar facilities have been provided at Bhagalpur, Jamalpur, and Sahibganj within the Malda Division. The existing running room at Malda Town station has been maintained to high standards, with an aesthetic view and a pleasant environment that fosters a positive work culture.
Other amenities include a kitchen that provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, air-conditioned rooms, and an entertainment zone. Notably, the cost of meals is heavily subsidized, with 90% covered by Indian Railways and 10% by the staff.
In the crew lobby, Loco Pilots, Assistant Loco Pilots, and Motor Men are provided with proper caution orders and timetables for their routes to ensure safety and efficiency.
These initiatives reflect Indian Railways’ ongoing commitment to providing a better working environment for its running staff, ensuring they have the necessary support to perform their duties effectively.
Apart from this, the work of air conditioning the engine cabs in the Railways is also going on. Air conditioners have been provided in more than 7000 cabs in the country and urinals have also been provided to more than 800 people.
Malda Division also provides all such facilities mentioned above to the running crew.
In Malda division, work worth about Rs. 2.5 crore has been approved for improving the running room system at Tildanga, Manigram, Gankar and Barharwa stations and about Rs. 2.1 crore for expansion and improvement in Sahibganj and Bhagalpur stations. The process for improvement and expansion of the running room is also going on.
