DIGITAL TICKETING CAMPAIGN AT SAHIBGANJ STATION
Today on 02.02.2024, on the direction of DRM/MALDA, Sri Vikas Chaube, a digital ticketing campaign was conducted at Sahibganj Railway Station of Malda Division to reduce passengers queues at the ticket counters.
The campaign was conducted by involving Commercial inspectors, Booking supervisor and commercial staff where they guided the public how to buy tickets through ATVM (Automatic Ticket Vending Machine) and use UTS on mobile app. Passengers were provided with basic information and live demonstration to help them understand the working of the UTS app and ATVM Machine by which they can get daily, platform and season tickets avoiding queues and rush at the booking counters saving their precious time.
Similar campaigns were conducted earlier at MaldaTown, New Farakka, Bhagalpur, Pirpainti and other stations of Malda division to popularise the use of ATVMs.
At present, Malda Division has installed total 33 numbers of ATVM at various stations under its jurisdiction.
In this regard, Indian railways appoints retired Railway employees or their wards/spouse as facilitators for issuing unreserved tickets through ATVMs to help such passengers who can't operate on their own .
Desirable persons can apply for the facilitators scheme at Divisional Office, Malda and can get 3% bonus as per rule on selling tickets through ATVMs.
Recently QR based scan module for UTS app has also been pasted at 42 stations of Malda Division.
As per Sr.DCM/Malda, Sri Sudeb Bhattacharya- "These type of campaigns will be organised at all the stations in future also to promote the UTS on Mobile App and ATVMs that is a step towards making the passengers smarter by avoiding themselves to stand in long queues. This will eventually minimise th counter rush/pressure also.
